Quiet and peaceful

Pros: Very cute and clean I really enjoyed the table outside The room was quiet and will equipped

Cons: The shower could be improved but honestly, for the price, we really loved our stay and would come back The bed could need some repairs but it was still comfortable

Warm welcome to a wonderful Stone House in a beautiful part of Crete

Pros: Beautiful Greek Stone House, immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. The breakfast at the cafe was delicious with a wonderful view.

Pros: The apartment is huge with its own balcony, living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and bedroom. The stone walls and roof give it a really nice feel. We only stayed one night but wish we were here for longer.

Relaxing break

Pros: Location in a lovely, quiet village, close to Vryses, Georgioupoli and Lake Kournas. Friendly hosts (serving great food at the cafe!), powerful air con and best of all: the terrace - perfect for stargazing and spotting satellites… Such great value for money - thank you so much, we can’t wait to go back!

Quiet and authentic

Pros: Our stay at Vafes Traditional Houses was amazing, a truly unique experience away from the busyness of the touristic places. Everything was clean, tidy and ready for us. A charming tavern just next to it with food and drinks, very local vibe. Would definitely recommend and come back as well!

Pros: We loved the athmosfare in the house and the willage. The house was nicely renovated and had a rustic charm. It was also a perfect place to explore the other pretty willages in the neighbourhood.

Cons: Nothing that we did not like.

Beautiful stay in a rustic Cretan house. Great hosts.

Pros: Beautiful rustic house. Authentic but all the required comfort for us. The place is quite large including a nice terrace. Air conditioning on both floors. Affordable breakfast and dinner on site if needed. Maria and her mother were very nice throughout our stay. Thank you so much!

Cons: Authentic and quiet. Food at the restaurant (even at 11pm+).

Great authentic experience in a beautiful local village! Comfortable and clean 😊 highly recommend!

Pros: The property was so cool, it was a very comfortable traditional house that stayed cold on very hot days. Plus there was aircon too. The property was also very clean and well looked after. The hosts are very lovely and welcoming and so accomodating. It is a small local village and a very authentic experience. We absolutely loved our stay, the local tavern is always buzzing with people from the village (a small number), there is a cute little gift shop and some walking by trails close by. The closest town where you can get the bus is Vryses which is about a 50 min walk down hill

Cons: It is quite far from a lot of the attractions and a little bit difficult without a car but it is easy to taxi from Vryses and bus around from here. We also walked the 50 min walk from Vryses a number of times. We enjoyed this plus made friends with the locals who were kind enough to give us the occasional ride
