First trip to Crete
Pros: Loved the views and the different outdoor places and being able to find shady spots to relax. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were particularly comfortable. Our host had been extremely generous in the range of supplies provided for making food and drink at the start of our holiday. We felt very well looked after by the owner's aunt/next door neighbour. All great.
Cons: We found the shower, being only handheld, a little awkward but it is a very minor thing. The access road is a very sharp turn (these seem common in Crete) but tricky with a larger car. So, it is worth reviewing your route on Google street view, particularly if you will be arriving in the dark.

very relaxing
Pros: This is a beautifully preserved family home, modernised with air con and a well-equipped kitchen, but retaining some special family mementoes. The garden provided shade or sun all day, and the hostess came to visit (plus her brother lives nearby). It was safe enough for her to leave the keys in the door for us, and she had left food and drink for us. In the dark it took a while to find but its only a short drive from the main road to Chania and the coast. It is a lovely place to stay.
Cons: It was all good. A note for less confident drivers - the entry from the road is a sharp turn (but there is plenty of parking space.) The village taverna was great although the walk back is uphill!

We would love to come again!
Pros: Wonderful view of the mountains and the valley. Nice terrace for the morning, afternoon and evening sun. Very friendly and helpful host. Plenty of fresh food in the refrigerator for the first breakfast.

Pros: Décoration maison jardin et paysage tout est exceptionnel, sans parler de l’accueil attentionné avec courses dans le réfrigérateur, fruits et même une bouteille de vin du secteur !!!

Que dire? C'est le paradis!...
Pros: Une maison charmante, confortable, un cadre magnifique, un jardin fleuri au calme, une bonne taverne à deux pas, Aptera une cité antique à découvrir, et surtout des hôtes très attentionnés. Merci à Anna et à Suzan pour leur gentillesse, pour toutes les bonnes choses trouvées dans la cuisine et leurs conseils de visite.

Eine hervorragende, sehr zu empfehlende Unterkunft
Pros: Eigenes Haus, sehr schöne, ruhige Lage, besonders schöne Terrassen mit Blick auf die weissen Berge. Geräumige Zimmer, gute Möblierung, große Doppelbetten mit sehr guten Matratzen (nur eines genutzt), gut ausgestattete Küche, überall hübsche Dekorationen. Man merkt, dass die Vermieterin mit Sinn für Design die Wohnung im Spätherbst und Winter selbst bewohnt. Die Schwägerin der Vermieterin, Susan, die nebenan wohnt, war immer besonders freundlich, hilfsbereit und gut gelaunt.
Cons: Nur ganz wenige Kleinigkeiten: Eine Beleuchtung am Spiegel im Bad und eine Lampe über der Arbeitsplatte in der Küche wären hilfreich. Und für meinen Geschmack steht vielleicht etwas zu viel herum. Übrigens würde ich eher 9,5 Punkte vergeben und nicht nur 9,0.

Pros: Très belle maison à la décoration soignée, très propre, très bien équipée. Le frigo était bien fourni à notre arrivée. La vue sur les Montagnes blanches est splendide. Taverne à proximité et site archéologique d'Aptera à qq centaines de mètres. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Anna , la mère de la propriétaire. Et grand merci à Susan, la voisine et tante de la propriétaire pour sa gentillesse et ses conseils. Allez y sans hésiter !!

Pros: Amazing stay in this traditional Cretan villa, where the past (photos, decors) is masterfully blend with the present (air conditioning, kitchen facilities). Sitting in the garden, in the early night, under the olive trees, looking at the distant lights and talking with each other - what a simple yet effective way to reach peace of mind. We feel grateful to the hosts who where very helpful and generous and we hope that we will return soon.
