Monastery Estate Retreat

Pros: The hotel was beautiful, the room was spacious and clean with a private pool and a view to the mountians. Every request was fulfilled and the staff were amazing and it was just a wonderful place, no complaints.

Pros: We were contacted in advance of our arrival to check our arrival time and if we wanted to book anything in advance. Lovely welcome and introduction to the area. We were lucky enough to be upgraded!! Lovely staff.

Cons: Only negative was that the breakfast wasn’t the best - but was delivered straight to our room in the morning which was lovely.

Pros: Very nice place! Great and welcoming staff. Bit secluded but that's what I loved about it. Not many people around, not many lights at night. Amazing opportunity to watch the stars! 🩵 Great mountain view and good restaurant 5min walk away. The estate also offers its own food and it's delicious.

Cons: Private pool water is very cold, but not much you can do about it, you also have a jacuzzi with hot water right next to the pool so in the end not that bad at all!

Lovely place to stay for those seeking relaxation

Cons: The breakfest was a la carte and rather simple and presented without much attention to details.

This place is a reason to revisit the area and I would very much like to stay there again.

Pros: Great atmosphere within a quiet and spacious room of high aesthetics. The staff was impressively kind, helpful and proactive during our staying which helped us relax straight away.

Cons: Although the breakfast was enjoyable, the cost seemed slightly higher in relation to what was offered

Highlight of a tour of Crete!

Pros: Really liked the mountain setting, very calm and peaceful. Beautiful design in the hotel. Staff were absolutely brilliant - great team - and gave the impression of genuinely valuing and respecting their guests. Loved the plunge pools. Quiet! Nice restaurant recommendations.

Cons: Difficult to think of anything I didn't like. I guess some written information about the various nearby walks (e.g. maps) might have been helpful. as not super easy to find online. A bigger iron in the room to neaten up clothes?!

Great place to access Erene and Samariá gorges. Both well worth visiting.

Pros: Great location for exploring the mountains and gorges. Really nice helpful staff on hand for your every need.

Cons: The property is lovely, in the minimalist monastery estate style.

Clean, friendly stuff, nice location

Pros: The room was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly, offering great recommendations. The room looked exactly like it did in the pictures. The location is also excellent for visiting Samaria Gorge and Lissos, with Sougia just a short drive away.

Cons: The balcony of our room wasn’t as private as we had expected. It faced the parking lot and was next to a corridor with people passing by.

A piece of paradise

Pros: This was the perfect start to our holiday in Crete. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are tastefully designed and having a private pool is always nice :) But the most amazing part of this place is the staff. They are so kind, caring, and attentive, they made every part of our stay perfect, from suggesting activities, to restaurants, to safe places to run! We really didn’t want to leave and almost didn’t!

Cons: Absolutely nothing… would have liked to take the cats home with us.
