Douliana Villas

Peaceful stay in a charming location

Pros: We spent our family holiday at Douliana Villas and truly enjoyed the peaceful setting, far from the crowds. The swimming pool was great for relaxing (depth is around 1.6 m, so better suited for confident swimmers), and the nearby tavern served delicious food with a wonderful local atmosphere at very reasonable prices. The location is also convenient for exploring — beautiful beaches and the lovely city of Chania are just a short drive away. A car is definitely needed to make the most of the area. We also appreciated the cleaning service and fresh towels every three days.

Cons: There are a few things that could make the experience even better: - Wi-Fi is only available outside, and in some apartments even the terrace has no signal. With mobile coverage also being limited, this made staying connected a bit tricky. - No insect screens on the windows, so you either need to keep them closed at night and use air conditioning, or risk a few mosquito visitors. - Pillows could be more comfortable. - Sewer smell in the ground floor bathroom. - On a couple of mornings, we were woken early (6:00 am) by cleaning staff playing videos on their phones — not every day, but a quieter start would have been nicer. Overall, Douliana Villas is a lovely and relaxing place with a lot of charm. With just a few small improvements, it could be absolutely perfect.

Pros: Spacious with good AC. Regular cleaning and towel/bedding changes.

Cons: Nothing but neighbours could be a bit noisy and bedrooms could have had a couple of tables/stands for suitcases

Pros: The 2 bedroom apartment was expansive v roomy and comfortable more than big enough for 3 people. We found Veronica who manages a few properties in the Village super responsive to us and all our questions about the area and what to do. She was better and faster than Google!! The details and her personal touch were unparalleled. Big thanks to her

Cons: We would have preferred more toiletries in the apartment but when we asked we were provided them so no issues. Also some additional basic cooking ingredients would have been good but we managed fine so not a complaint

Perfect is not enough

Pros: Everything was amazing. The house was super clean. The stuff is amazing. They were there 24/7 for everything we needed. The pool was perfect for the kids. We enjoyed the location, since it was close to super nice beaches. We cannot be more satisfied.

A wonderfully relaxing stay, home from home.

Pros: We had a wonderful relaxing break at the villas. We couldn't ask for more, it was exactly what we wanted. Everyone was happy to help and it was peaceful.

Cons: Not a dislike, but glad we hired a car.

Pros: Spacious, outside areas very well looked after and outstanding staff, always ready to help and make their utmost to make our stay exceptional.

Cons: Spacious terrace but not satisfactorily furnished (basic table and chairs but no armchairs or sofas). Disappointing.

Pros: High quality apartment, spacious, well furnished, excellent cooking facilities. Lovely gardens surrounding, great views. Very pretty, quiet village (out of main season) with friendly locals.

Cons: Access roads in village very narrow and twisting - glad to never have met anyone whilst driving to/from property!
