Lovely place
Pros: The owners were super friendly and kind, the accomodation was very nice, clean, comfortable and we had everything we neeeded. Pool was so clean and always opened when we needed. Our apartment had balcony with view over the pool and it was so quiet. Very near is supermarket and some restaurants ;)

Good accommodation in perfect location
Pros: It's a complex of three buildings and a pool - each building has a couple of apartments. Generally, the complex is a little dated and not the most modern - but still in a good condition and a good value for money. The bed was quite comfortable, the view from the balcony was very nice and the area was very peaceful and quiet. The couple of owners were super nice and welcoming. There are also some very cute cats hanging around the buildings. The location is great - very short walk to the castle and beach, there are also a couple of taverns/restaurants in the village, two small supermarkets and a bakery.
Cons: The biggest downsize for me was the acoustics - I could very clearly hear my neighbours - even if they were just talking it felt super loud for some reason. Of course, you don't spend a lot of time inside the apartment but for people sensitive to noise this can be a disadvantage. The area is very quiet though! No other noises. The second thing is that the apartment (at least the 2-person) was not very spacious - again, you don't spend a lot of time there so it's not the end of the world.

Very relaxing place to stay with everything you could need for a great holiday.
Pros: Nikos & his wife were wonderful hosts, extremely helpful. waited up until after 1 AM to let us in to our apartment. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend Monachus as a base to explore south west Crete.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Location quiet, beautiful views. Owners very helpful & friendly. Gave good advice re area & tavernas etc. Great for those wanting peace, good food, beaches & calm. Comfy beds, very clean.
Cons: Only comment is small size of shower cubicle & some fittings were a bit dated BUT we had an amazing time here.

Wonderful place and amazing hosts
Pros: Our hosts were incredibly hospitable and we felt at home. The apartment is spacious, perfectly clean and with everything we needed. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. And there are beautiful kittens!

Our Greek getaway
Pros: Our hosts - Nikos, Eleni, and Andreas, make Monachus Monachus the place it is. Never intrusive, but always on hand for help or advice. Our lovely 2 bedroom apartment. Super swimming pool. Peace and quiet. Ideal location.

quiet place close to the beach
Pros: I got an umbrella for the beach. Nice view from the balcony and the pool was suitable for swimming. Well-equipped studio, the microwave was useful.
Cons: The bathroom was little mainly the shower, there was a bad smell coming from the drain. I received little toilet paper and soap but I bought it at a nearby store.

Very enjoyable break in a quiet location with everything you need.
Pros: Lovely relaxing location. Clean and reasonably comfortable. Good facilities and easy to get essentials you might need.
Cons: There was nothing not to like if choosing a nice rural location.

Pros: Very relaxing place, owners very welcoming and helpful. Larger pool than most places with shaded places to sit and relax by the pool with separate toddler pool. Away from the packed tourist places but everything needed is close by - supermarkets, bakery, taverna's beaches so you experience the local culture. Very clean and comfortable rooms, good AC in every room, can't wait to go there again.
Cons: The area is a long way from the airports and the roads to get there are difficult, so need to go for a good few nights.

Pros: Nice apartment at walking distance from a beautiful beach. Equipped for 4 people, with 2separate bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchenette in the living area, aircon in each room and a beautiful terrace with seaview where we enjoyed breakfast every morning. Swimming pool is well maintained, kids loved a last swim after a full day on the beach. The place was much nicer in real life than in the pictures.😉
Cons: We had a lovely stay. I'll just suggest having a price list in the coffee bar by the swimming pool.
