Calle Veneziana

Pros: Calle Veneziana is in the perfect location, to explore the old city, yet is within a walkable distance from the facilities of Chania town. It is full of character, comfortable and with a genuinely local, established and welcoming community. I loved the easy greetings I experienced every morning from neighbours out and about, walking their dogs, or simply going about their days. As a visitor, I loved the local tavernas within a minute's walk, particularly the one adjacent to the conservatory, allowing diners to enjoy a relaxed meal while enjoying a gentle musical soundtrack of live rehearsals. On a practical level, the furnishings and decor are gorgeous and every detail, from the coffee machines to the simple things, like salt, pepper and olive oil, are provided, along with laundry pods and even sun lotion.

Cons: There's absolutely nothing I didn't like, it was perfect. However, the house is genuinely old and I have older friends, of a certain vintage, who would struggle with the spiral staircases that access the upper floors. But that's not a criticism at all. Any traveller needs to do their research and understand that an authentically historical property such as this reflects it's age.

Pros: Fantastic location. Beautifully clean and well presented house. Really great aircon. Welcome gifts were lovely. Manos was the perfect host. He was accessible and prompt in replying to our questions and attentive to our needs. The icing on the cake - Manos’ leaving gifts to us. So thoughtful.

Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this lovely little house

Quirky charm in a pristine Venetian town house in a brilliant position in the old town of Chania.

Pros: Charming old Venetian style house in the heart of the old town which retains its neighbourhood feel as it hasn’t been over-modernised like most of Chania so it still has ‘heart’

Cons: The spiral staircase up to the second bedroom is a bit tricky so it wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues but it adds to the quirky charm of the house

Authentic Villa with 3 floors and roof terrace for a long vacation

Pros: - Great location in old town close to the port and city beach - Friendly host who helped with everything and made lots of presents - authentic building inside and outside with lots of interesting details - everything you need at the kitchen for cooking - air conditioner at every floor - Great roof terrace with sunbeds and umbrella - All the necessary equipment for daily routine: washing machine, iron, hair dryer, etc.

Cons: - shower is small and very close to the toilet, it'd be good to at least split it with shower curtain - stairs to the 1st floor have kind of wooden stick to handle, but it would be more convenient to have stair railings for older people - mattress at the 1st floor is very soft, for somebody who got used to a hard mattress, it's a bit uncomfortable - as it's in the old town, sometimes it's loud because of neighbors and tourists

Pros: The house was charming and central. We found it easily and Manos was there to greet us. There were cold drinks in the fridge and he had also provided cake and something for breakfast. The air-conditioning was effective and the house was clean. We enjoyed the rooftop, where there were seats, sunbeds and also a stand for drying clothes. Manos was kind enough to order us a taxi and help us with our luggage to the main square. Thank you!

Cons: The bathroom is quite small and we couldn't log on to Netflix.

Pros: Beautiful and has everything you could want. Your stay here will be comfortable with all that is needed for your visit in this beautiful town, with Manos always there to help you with anything.

Delightful traditional property with fabulous roof terrace

Pros: Beautiful, quirky property with one room on each floor - a traditional kitchen, a lovely double bedroom and a small additional double bedroom (with a non-horizontal floor!) which has the fantastic roof terrace attached (which is also a bit sheltered from the sun, particularly in the morning)

Cons: The shower is very small, with no separation from the rest of the room and the toilet within the shower curtain - not ideal, but it was fine.

A fabulous relaxing week

Pros: The property was exceptionally clean. The quirky decor is fabulous We liked the roof terrace for a sunny breakfast before heading to the beach

Relaxing place to stay. Close to the sea and restaurants.

Pros: The house is spotlessly clean and located close to the sea and many superb restaurants. The host Manos is kind, extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions.

Perfect!

Pros: Everything about Calle Veneziana was just perfect. It's easy to see why it is so highly rated. It's a beautiful apartment in a great location, with charming decor and a very nice terrace. Manos was a fantastic host who took great care to make sure our stay was comfortable, and really thought of everything: maps, info, snacks, water, wine, even a beach umbrella that came in very handy. We could not have found a nicer place to spend our last 5 days in Crete to finish our perfect vacation. Thank you Manos!
