Kalyves Beach Hotel

Pros: Food was good and varied. Staff were excellent and everywhere very clean. Comfortable bed.

Beautiful location, lovely hotel in the heart of Kalyves

Pros: Excellent location, directly on the beach and the hotel have their own parts of the beach to use where you can use sun loungers. Friendly staff, room cleaned daily and fresh bottled water provided once a day. Food was good, nice variety and something for most. Indoor pool was great, if the weather isn’t great you have another option for the kids to enjoy swimming.

Cons: The outdoor pools were pretty chilly and not really being used, but given that we went end of October I did expect this.

Great beach all inclusive stay. Clean friendly and not too big or crowded

Pros: Right on the beach, great food. The whole property was very clean and never over crowded.

Lovely stay for a family

Pros: Really pleasant stay. Can’t fault anything really location amazing children’s disco daily. Nice rooms clean and comfortable bed. We were all inclusive but midway we upgraded to all inclusive plus as the drinks weren’t great but that is pretty typical for all inclusive so no issues there. Also thanks to the staff as asked to organise some flowers etc for my wife for our anniversary and really lovely present for a reasonable price on very short notice as well.

Cons: robably the food was the weak point it wasn’t bad or anything but quite limited in choices and most meat like pork and chicken quite dry. Also the outdoor pools were really cold its nice that there is an heated pool indor but would have been nice if the outside one was heated.

Great stay, deffinitely elders in September, really calm

Pros: With a new chef the food was excellent, every meal fresh tasty and Greek. On the beach stone throw from hotel and bar. fabulous holiday

Relaxed and blissful stay

Pros: We had a wonderful two weeks, the hotel is located right on the beach and has three pools, and a buffet combining Greek and international foods. This is not a huge complex which was just right for our little toddler. The staff are wonderful, from the start of the day with Evangelica our cleaning lady who was like a doting Greek grandmother for our daughter, yoga lessons with Eva, the attentionate staff during meal times, the welcoming receptionists, my birthday excursion organised by Momo, to our expert cocktail makers Costas and Vengalis! We made some great friends and returned home fully refreshed. The evening entertainment is good with Greek dancing, belly dancing, gigs, etc.

Cons: The bathrooms are on the small side, this wasn't much of an issue for us but it is worth taking into consideration if you have mobility issues. The hotel could probably benefit from having an appointed indoor play area for children with toys, books, etc. to keep them entertained when the weather is not so good and in the evening.

One of the best kept secrets in Crete.

Pros: This was our second visit to Kalyves Beach Hotel and we can honestly say, we’ve had a great experience and the holiday was wonderful. The staff, food & evening entertainment were perfect. Our friends both have difficulties with walking so use mobility scooters and although there’s no specific accessible rooms the staff did their best to accommodate them in a suitable room. The whole hotel is accessible in the communal areas including one of the pools with Roman steps with a rail for easy access. Kalyves itself is a wonderful little place with a lovely beach. This is our ‘go to’ place for a relaxing holiday.

Cons: We would have preferred a shower cubicle rather than a shower curtain round a small shower tray but that’s just a personal preference.

Ideal for a peaceful stay, but children’s activities are quite limited.

Pros: The hotel is charming and has its own beach, which makes the stay especially enjoyable. The food is delicious and varied, with something for everyone, and there was always at least one seafood option available. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming — from the reception to the cleaning team, everyone made us feel comfortable and well taken care of

Cons: The hotel could improve its facilities for children. There is a small playground, but it is located directly on the beach and lacks shade on hot days. A dedicated children’s pool would also be a great addition, as the current shallow area is quite basic and not equipped with slides or toys.

Wonderful

Pros: Everything was unexpected, really clean, extremely good food, staff was very friendly, location was great. This hotel should have 5 stars as everything was great.
