Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa

Good, big resort in Platanias.

Pros: We got a spacious, comfortable apartman instead of a studio, with a seaview. (Our room was opposite to the small port of Platanias.) Well equipped apartman. Good breakfast. Good pools. Free parking in the hotel’s parking lot.

A smart, well maintained hotel with great food and nice staff.

Pros: I loved everything about my stay here. I loved my room, the buffet was great at breakfast and dinner, the staff were friendly. It was all very well maintained. I liked that it was a good-sized hotel but not too big. I appreciated the gym being easy to use. It was all just the relaxing treat I needed. Just 30 minutes from Chania airport too.

Pros: Lovely family run hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast, nice pool however we chose to walk straight onto the beach and swim in the sea.

A beautiful Beach Resort in the heart of Platanias.

Pros: The resort is in immaculate condition. Very nicely designed, very clean and very easy to walk and access all amenities. Everything one needs to enjoy a beach vacation. Comfortable loungers on a beautiful beach. Several swimming pools to choose from, each having its own atmosphere (some more suitable for families & children and others for couples etc). The restaurants are very good and the Breakfast buffet is excellent. Spacious rooms with everything one needs. Parking across the street. Great location in the heart of Platanias with many great restaurants, bars, bakeries, Super Markets, pharmacies, rental cars etc right at your doorstep. Great resort. Highly recommend this resort!

Cons: A minor thing. Not a big deal but your beach/pool towels could only be replaced every 3 days or so.

Well maintained hotel with large rooms. Great location, with many nice restaurants close by.

Pros: The room was huge (two connected rooms) with two bathrooms - with a large double bed (rather soft) and two sofa beds. The hotel seems to be well maintained. The location is very good - right next to the port and the beach, with many nice restaurants near by (The Wave, Mitsos, Blue & White, Valentino). The Reception staff was very helpful booking for us a rent-a-car, taxi and a trip to Samaria Gorge (well worth the effort). We also enjoyed the boat trip to Thodoroy island, booked directly at the port.

Cons: Sun loungers at the pools were all occupied by 9.30am on most days. The sun loungers at the beach (part of the hotel) cost EUR15 per day a pair, while a few meters down the beach the cost is EUR8 a pair (in front of The Wave). The beach is not entirely sandy - there are large blocks of uneven rock, especially when entering the sea, but sandy after. The food and service at the restaurant could have been better. There was an issue with our meal plan, but this was resolved very quickly by the Hotel with the prompt assistance of Booking.com - many thanks.

Pros: Great hotel for family holiday. 5 pools, kids playgrounds and beach with sun beds just next to the hotel. Great food and services. We had great time here. Hotel is in the vibrant touristic area with plenty of shops bars and restaurants around.

Cons: All was perfect in the hotel, one thing but not specific to the hotel. Smoking in public areas is still allowed in Greece, restaurant, pools and beach sun beds are full of smoking people

Excellent but a bit pricy!

Pros: The food and the location were excellent, but the price was a little high.

Cons: The price could be a bit lower.

Fantastic Location

Pros: Great breakfast buffet in a big bright room with beautiful views. Mini Market shop onsite was great and reasonably priced. Resort is in a fantastic location, right on the beach and close to lots of restaurants and bars. The apartments were great, having 2 balconies and 2 bathrooms was a big plus. Was a lovely touch getting a voucher for 1 hour in the spa and for 4 free drinks.

Cons: The sunbed situation. Sunbeds were 'reserved' from 6am onwards even though there are plenty of signs around the pool asking guests not to do so. Some would reserve very early and not appear until 11am. The sunbeds are very dirty. Lots of stains on them and some are a bit smelly. The material on the beds gets very hot in the sun and that means it's sore to sit on. Only 1 plug socket in the upstairs bedroom in the apartments. Wasn't ideal. Also no full length mirror.

Pros: Eveything was perfect!! Great location, very helpful staff. Food great variety. 5 pools. Very clean
