Casa Veneta

Pros: Brilliant location, smart decor, and a wonderful host who was incredibly helpful and welcoming.

Cons: The only negative is that we were on the ground floor right next to a restaurant and the busy street, which could get a little noisy. Although it quietened down late at night.

Sophistication in the Old Town

Pros: Great location on an ancient Venetian street. The room was spacious, comfortable and cleverly laid out, with a balcony to watch the world below go by We were made very welcome by Stavros who supplied all the information we needed about sights and eating out We found parking around the corner without difficulty

Stavros and George’s place is great, we thoroughly recommend.

Pros: Great location on the old town, so picturesque and with lovely relaxed vibe. Nice cafes and restaurants within easy reach.

Cons: The property is wonderful. The parking is more difficult because it’s a very popular part of town but we always found a space in the end, sometimes nearer the hotel than others!

Excellent location, wonderful and responsive host for a local experience in the old town

Pros: Stavros the host was such a delight! Upon arrival, he texted to check if we checked in alright. He also provided a bunch of local tips, and was very responsive towards any questions I have via WhatsApp - recommended restaurants, local marts... and he shared with me about Sardine Day! (It's a day the locals grill sardines and give it out for free along the beach) The room was very clean, and was well equipped. There was even a little free bottle of Raki :) While Casa Veneta is in the old town, it is located more towards the edge of the old town, so it isn't as noisy at night... But you still get the convenience of being walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the old town.

Cons: The room did have quite a bit of steps, and the toilet was on the lower level of the room while the bedroom was on the higher level. I was ok with it, but not ideal for my mum who has trouble walking.

Pros: We stayed in a large room on the first floor, with a double bed, a sofa, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The location was amazing, on a lovely street close to the sea.

Pros: Central location in the Venetian part of Chania. The room had a small balcony to watch the world go by on the street below. Plenty of room if you don't mind a few stairs. Open plan

Pros: Amazing friendly host - always contactable if needed. Comfortable room and bed with a nice view. Daily room service if needed. Hotel is on a nice street in the old town.

Pros: We loved our stay at Casa Veneta. It was very stylish, clean and in a great location close to the waterfront, cafes, tavernas and walking distance to beaches and the bus station. Above all Stavos was a wonderful host who gave many useful tips on eateries, walks and swimming spots. He really made our stay special

The best place we've stayed at in Crete!

Pros: This is the 4th time my partner and I have holidayed in Crete and Casa Veneta was by far the nicest place we've stayed in. The building was beautiful, the location perfect and the views stunning. We'd read very good things about the owner, Stavros, and they were not wrong; he provided us with lots of excellent recommendations (in particular the restaurant Strata!) and went out of his way to make sure we knew where to catch our bus to Samaria Gorge and gave us updates about interesting events via WhatsApp. The accommodation was clean, cool and quiet with a very large and comfortable bed. All in all - top marks!
