Villa Vallia - Villa Marina

Very enjoyable week and looking forward to returning next year

Pros: Lovely villa well equipped ..very comfortable ! Would definitely recommend .

Pros: Very nice clean Villa with everything we needed. It's lovely to cool off in the pool. Maria was very attentive and helpful and even bought us over a very tasty apple cake. The Villa is a ten minute walk from the beach and a short drive from Chania.

Cons: Getting in and out of the driveway was a little tight, but we managed it.

Excellent stay and wonderfull host

Pros: Host Maria was very sweet and helpful. Actually the best host we have ever experienced. Communication is excellent from start to end. They arranged taxi when we needed and even helped with a bit of groceries as we arrived very late the first day. Also baked a wonderful cake and gave us useful information about the island and trips. The villa Vallia is excellent and aircon working great. Fully equipped kitchen and outside BBQ. Sunbeds and very clean pool and beautiful garden surrounded by olive trees. Short walk to cozy town of Galletas (uphill) with bakery, local restaurants, coffee shop, farmacy and supermarket. Down hill walk to Beach Kalimaki which is very child friendly and with sunbeds and restaurants. Bus 15 takes you to Chania and bus 21 to Platanias. Further an agency nearby Villa arranges trips to all of Crete.

Cons: You can hear Highway beneath the villa but it did not bother us at all. We got used to it. No keys to lock the bathrooms nor rooms. Further there is only one set of keys to the house. Maybe if asking it might be possible to get an extra set of keys.

Relax and comfort

Pros: Fantastic garden, house very big and fully equipped. Maximum privacy in all property. Maria is very kind and caring. On our arrival we found some groceries in the fridge and fresh fruits. The house was cleaned every 3 days as well as the swimming pool. Nice BBQ area.

Cons: Some noise from the highway and a few aunts around the house but it's normal in the countryside.

We wouldn't hesitate to return. The Cretan people are very warm friendly and the island is beautiful

Pros: Villa Vallia is lovely and has great views. The pool is great and completely private and the whole place is kept very clean. Maria is exceptionally kind and thoughtful. My wife was ill for a few days and she made her some excellent chicken soup (she also made us a cake) - she couldn't have done more for us and we are very grateful. The location is ideal with plenty of good restaurants within easy reach, as well as getting into Chania and a lot of great beaches.

Beautiful and spacious villas in a magnificent garden

Pros: We rented both villas with a bigger company of friends (with children). The owners are extremely friendly, Maria even baked a phantastic apple cake for us! It saved us on a hike in the mountains:) The villas are spacious, beds are comfortable, the garden is beautiful. Everything was very well maintained. Communication with the owners was excellent.

Cons: The villas are very close to the main road. You don't see the road but you do hear it.

Pros: It was clean, comfortable and had everything (and more) that we needed for 2 weeks away.

We loved it!

Pros: The lovely landscaping and the privacy it provided were excellent. The traffic noises which could be heard from the highway well below the villa were not objectionable and did not disturb our tranquility. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, even baked a delicious chocolate cake for us.

Will be looking to book again next year

Pros: The property was beautiful, perfect for our family of 4 and having two bathrooms, one with a bath one with a shower was great. The hosts were incredible and kept us informed about the cleaners and dropped in a lovely freshly baked apple pie.

Cons: Nothing. I know there is a main road close by but it didn’t bother us at all and certainly wasn’t noticeable at night.

We had a wonderful holiday and we’ve made lots of terrific family memories.

Pros: This was the second time we stayed at Villa Marina. Our party was four adults and two children and we all comfortably fit in the Villa. The kids loved the pool and we had a hard time getting them out of it. Everything is in walking distance or a short drive into Chania for a lovely lunch or dinner.

Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Maria and her staff are excellent. Everything was made clear to us when we arrived and we were made to feel very comfortable. We highly recommend it! There is road noise from the major road but this quickly became background noise like the cicadas.
